Meet Your Doula …

Story of Becoming

My introduction to Pregnancy and Birthing babies had been an early one being the first-born of my Grandmothers 8 grandchildren…

I had grown having a hand in the caregiving of every one of my first cousins; and by time I had been old enough— although I had witnessed a few births “before my time”— It had always seemed that this process left it’s pearly gates wide open for me to explore.. But being young and unexposed to the concept of Birth-work, I developed a very practical dream of becoming a Pediatrician.

As I continued to grow, constantly being adept at what happens after the baby is born and how they should be cared for after-birth it had just stayed with me.. My family had even began calling me “The Baby Whisperer,” in awe of how newborns and toddlers interacted with me.

Though that does pretty much cover my lived experience in verrrry short-word, I hadn’t engulfed myself into the world of all things wellness and womanhood until 2016. My professional introduction had only begun within my pursuit of becoming a Certified Herbalist. As I committed myself to the ceremonial practice of remembrance through my Herbal Studies, I had been introduced to an entire world I was sure I had known before.

As I continued along this journey of healing, I had been so sure that this knowledge of “alternative” medicine was simply for my own reproductive and nervous system irregularities; and to my surprise, this experience positively expanded my sense of self.

Every piece of myself retrieved, connected itself back to my strong inclination to the concepts and understanding of the “mother,” birth, alchemy, emotional transcendence, healing and the foundational support that is vital to our selfhoods as we continue our legacies of healing. From the discovery of this alone, I remember being able to list the occurrences in my life I had held strongest in my memory, these memories that contained womxn, always. Giving, always. Nurture in all ways. All these terms and memories, gains and losses, confusions and clarities led me to my very personalized awakening of how being a Birth-worker, therefore caregiver is surely my life’s calling and fully in alignment with my ancestors pasts.

In effort to offer the upmost intimate, healing and personalized experience, I have received Certifications in healing modalities that have been so, extremely supportive along my journey as well as other highly beneficial and requested services; this includes my “Additional Offerings” of Herbalism, Nutrition, Reiki Healing, Lactation Education, Childbirth Education.

After the accumulation of 4 Birth-Worker Certifications, Completion of Reiki Levels 1&2, obtaining my Certification in the study of Herbalism and receiving my title as a Certified Lactation Education Specialist— alongside my Trauma-Informed courses and my continuing educational pursuits—

I am expanding in my call to be of complete service with compassion and dedication to Womxn dedicated to the process of becoming Mothers to themselves, and their off-springs
